The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, etc) where each number is the sum of the two precediing numbers. This piece utilizes a series of inset triangles arranged in this sequence. 

The Fibonacci sequence's significance lies in its ubiquitous appearance in nature, mathematics, art, and finance, representing efficient growth patterns, harmony, the divine blueprint of creation, and interconnectedness through its mathematical expression of the Golden Ratio.
